The methodology

How the OpsScore works

A clear view of operational readiness, based on the questions that apply to your company and the evidence behind your answers.

Five areas of operations

The assessment organizes questions into five domains so you can see where to focus, not just one overall number.

01

Board

Governance, oversight, and board practices.

02

Employees

People policies, hiring, and workforce practices.

03

Finance & Tax

Financial processes, records, and tax readiness.

04

Investor Relations

Investor communication and reporting.

05

Legal, IP & Insurance

Legal foundations, intellectual property, and coverage.

From answers to a reviewed score

Complete the questionnaire

Answer the operational questions relevant to your company.

Provide evidence

Documents in your data room help support and contextualize your answers.

Agent review

AI assists with document analysis and scoring suggestions; an agent reviews and finalizes the completed assessment.

How the percentage is calculated

Area score

An area's score is its earned points divided by its possible points across applicable questions, multiplied by 100.

Area % = area earned ÷ area possible × 100

Overall OpsScore

The overall score uses total earned points divided by total possible points across all applicable questions. It is not an average of the five area percentages.

Overall % = total earned ÷ total possible × 100

A question marked N/A contributes zero maximum points and is excluded from the points possible. If no questions apply, the score is shown as 0; that alone is not evidence of operational risk.

Reading your score

OpsScores and area scores are rounded to the nearest whole number before display and band assignment (for example, 69.6 becomes 70, Healthy). These four bands describe the assessment score, not an industry peer percentile.

Progress over time

Quarterly results compare a completed assessment with the prior completed assessment. The change is the difference between the two rounded scores, in percentage points; the two assessments may not be in adjacent calendar quarters. This is a periodic questionnaire and evidence review, not continuous real-time monitoring or a fund-manager operational due diligence rating.
